They love K-pop. Give them a place to start dancing.

A six-week online program for beginner teens—with small-group classes, a private lesson every week, and practical tools for confidence, focus, and resilience.

They don’t need experience. They don’t need to keep up with fast tutorials. And they don’t have to feel confident before they begin.

Ages 12–16 · Maximum 6 learners · Live online

January 11–February 17, 2027
Mondays & Wednesdays
5:00–5:45 PM Pacific / 8:00–8:45 PM Eastern

They want to dance—but hesitate to start.

Maybe your teen loves watching K-pop choreography but finds tutorials frustrating. They worry they’re behind, feel uncomfortable joining an experienced group, or haven’t found a beginner class that feels right.

Here, they can start at the beginning.

With step-by-step teaching, a small beginner group, and individual guidance every week, they’ll have space to ask questions, practice tricky sections, and recognize their progress.

“My daughter said this was the best class she had ever been part of, and I immediately noticed a difference in her confidence.”

Learn the moves. Practice the confidence to keep going.

Over six weeks, your teen will work toward performing a beginner-friendly K-pop routine while developing coordination, musicality, and expression.

Along the way, they’ll practice:

  • Breaking challenges into manageable steps when choreography feels overwhelming.

  • Using memory and focus strategies to remember what comes next.

  • Recovering from mistakes without giving up.

  • Expressing their ideas through creative movement.

  • Participating with others while working toward a shared goal.

An optional final sharing moment gives them a chance to celebrate what they’ve learned.

Personal support, every week.

Your teen’s complete six-week experience includes:

12 live group classes — 45 minutes each
Meet twice weekly to learn choreography, develop dance foundations, and practice with other beginners. Maximum six learners.

6 private lessons — 30 minutes each
One individual lesson every week, tailored to their goals. Slow down difficult steps, ask questions, refine technique, and practice strategies for handling frustration or nerves.

Weekly practice videos
Revisit the choreography at their own pace, with a clear guide for practicing between sessions.

Weekly parent summaries
Understand what they’re learning, the life skills they’re practicing, and how to encourage them at home.

18 live sessions across six weeks—including three hours dedicated entirely to your teen.

Total investment: $1,000

More than learning a routine

The approach draws from April Lorenzi’s book, The Secret Dance Technique, and four pillars:

Mindset · Social-Emotional Learning · Memory & Focus · Creativity

Group sessions combine a practical life-skill activity, dance instruction, and reflection. Private lessons help learners apply those tools to their own goals and challenges.

When a step feels difficult, we practice breaking it down. When a mistake interrupts the dance, we practice resetting. When nerves show up, we practice taking the next step anyway.

“It is incredible what she gets out of my rather shy daughter, who loves dancing.”

Meet April

I’m April Lorenzi, founder of The Secret Dance Technique and author of the book behind our approach.

I began dancing at 15, so I understand what it feels like to start when others seem ahead.

My background combines studies in psychology, with a focus on performance psychology, a minor in dance, and professional performing experience with Walt Disney World, cruise ships, and international productions.

I created The Secret Dance Technique to help learners develop their dancing alongside skills they need to thrive—but aren’t always explicitly taught—like confidence, performing under pressure, memory, focus, and resilience.

FAQ

Does my teen need dance experience?
No. This program is designed for beginners, including teens who have only tried dancing along at home.

What if they’re shy or nervous to dance?
This program is perfect for them! Clear guidance, introductions, and manageable challenges help learners get comfortable. Weekly private lessons provide additional space for questions and individual practice. The final sharing moment is optional. The goal is to build confidence that lasts beyond the dance floor.

How much time should we allow each week?
Two 45-minute group classes and one 30-minute private lesson—two live hours weekly, plus time to revisit the practice videos.

Which songs will they learn?
We’ll consider learner preferences and select age-appropriate music and choreography suited to the group’s starting level.

What do they need at home?
A reliable internet connection, a device with a camera, comfortable clothing, and enough clear space to move safely.

How are private lessons scheduled?
We’ll agree on a weekly appointment from Monday-Thursday before you enroll.

What if the group is small?
The program can run with one enrolled learner. If your teen is the only participant, the scheduled group sessions become individual instruction. There may be exceptions for late enrollment if this is the case. Opportunities to connect with other learners depend on enrollment.

What if we miss a lesson or need to withdraw?
Missed group classes aren’t refunded or individually made up. Weekly practice videos help learners review what they missed.

Private lessons can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability within the six-week program. Lessons canceled with less notice or missed without notice count as used.

If you withdraw before January 11, you’ll receive a refund minus a reservation fee of 10% of your program price: $100 for standard enrollment or $50 for scholarship enrollment.

If you withdraw during the first week, email info@thesecretdancetechnique.com by January 17, 2027, at 11:59 PM Pacific to receive a 50% refund of your total program price: $500 for standard enrollment or $250 for scholarship enrollment.

From January 18 onward, no refunds are offered for withdrawal or missed lessons.

If we cancel a lesson, we’ll arrange a replacement or refund that lesson’s allocated fee. If we cancel the entire program before it begins, you’ll receive a full refund.
